A look back at some of the amazing work you helped make possible for kids this year.
Too many kids in our country are living with hunger. Too many are falling behind in school and in life because they don’t have the energy to learn and grow.
Their futures are filled with possibilities, but hunger takes those possibilities away.
Thanks to you, we're giving them back. Here's what you made possible In 2019:
- Our work in schools helped provide 11.5 million breakfasts for kids (plus 783,000 afterschool meals).
- 350,000 families used our texting service to find free meals for their kids this summer – and we helped summer meals sites serve over 8 million meals.
- Our legislative victories unlocked $8.3 million to feed more than 605,000 children.
- We brought hundreds of leaders from across the country together for the first-ever summit on rural child hunger.
- We brought chefs and young advocates from across the country to Washington D.C. to urge their representatives in Congress to stand up for kids.
- We invited high-level teams from six states to an intensive training session to help them improve the way they feed kids breakfast at school.
And those are just a few of the highlights.
Every day we're finding new and better ways to feed kids, thanks to your support and commitment. Because of you, childhood hunger is at its lowest point in over 20 years.
Together, we can look toward a day in which all kids will have the healthy food they need. And when that happens, there are 10 million possibilities.
