One of the hardest problems we face in our effort to make sure every kid in America gets three meals a day is what to do in the summer. For kids who rely on free meals at school, the summer months are a time of hunger and anxiety.
But there are a lot of smart people out there coming up with great new ways to reach kids in need during the summer, from healthy vending machines to mobile meals trucks. No Kid Hungry is always looking for great programs like these to invest in and share with more communities.
Today, we need your help.
The summer is almost here, and we know more great local ideas are out there. If you know someone in your school district or city government or local church community that has a great idea to feed more kids in the summer, we want to hear about them.
We're giving out grants of up to $10,000 (and providing technical assistance) to help turn those ideas into reality for kids.
Submit your great idea to No Kid Hungry.
The deadline is March 15, so if this sounds like you or someone you know, please get in touch. We can't wait to hear from you.
