For more than three decades, the restaurant industry has been our strongest ally. Chefs, restaurant owners and other culinary professionals devote their talents to help us raise funds to end childhood hunger.
They lead fundraising events like Taste of the Nation, No Kid Hungry Dinners and Dine for No Kid Hungry. They pedal uphill to raise awareness and funds through Chefs Cycle. And they advocate tirelessly for kids on Capitol Hill, in state houses, and online.
The coronavirus pandemic has forced many of these businesses to shutter their doors to ensure staff and guests alike remain safe. Many restaurants that close now may never re-open.
Our fundraising events rely on culinary professionals donating their time, passion and heart to our work. Every year, No Kid Hungry’s culinary platforms engage thousands of culinary professionals raising millions of dollars to feed kids in need. Now we seek to support our culinary community.
Those restaurants that are able will pivot to alternative service models ‒ delivery instead of dining rooms, advance sales like gift cards and merchandise ‒ as a way to ensure they’re able to continue serving their communities once this crisis has passed.
If you’re ordering delivery, or have the means to make an advance purchase, consider supporting the robust community of restaurants and culinary professionals that make No Kid Hungry’s work possible.
