Karen Barr

Karen serves as Managing Director, Individual Giving. In her role as Managing Director, Karen develops and directs strategies to help Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign reach mission-critical revenue targets through digital and offline, DRTV, face-to-face, sustainer and mid-level.

Prior to joining Share Our Strength in 2023, Karen served as Managing Director, Supporter Experience at Save the Children. She is very active in the non-profit community and is a frequent speaker at conferences in the areas of direct response and mid-level.

Karen has over 25 years of experience and her background includes marketing strategy, fundraising, communications/branding, project management, budget management and development, program/campaign development & optimization and fundraising analysis. Karen also has extensive experience developing and growing direct response and mid-level programs across various channels/sources and leading successful teams.

Karen lives in Connecticut with her husband and daughter Kandace.

What’s your “why?” As someone who sees the potential in all people, I believe that everyone has a strength to share. I know first-hand how important it is to have someone who believes in and advocates for you no matter what circumstances you face. That is why I’ve worked for over 25 years to help families and children realize their full potential.

My idea of fun is: Relaxing on a beach and spending time with my family, especially my husband and daughter.
