"This legislation would only increase hunger and hardship in our country."

Today the House of Representatives narrowly passed the Agriculture and Nutrition Act of 2018 (H.R. 2), also known as the Farm Bill. It passed by a vote of 213-211.
The following is a statement from Share Our Strength's associate director of government relations, Monica Gonzales. Share Our Strength is the nonprofit organization behind the No Kid Hungry campaign:
"We are deeply disappointed in the outcome of today's vote on the Farm Bill. This legislation would have a devastating impact on hardworking families and children and would only increase hunger and hardship in our country.
We now turn to the Senate for a more bipartisan, evidence-based approach to protecting and strengthening SNAP and policies that put kids and their families on a path to a brighter future."
